About Dr. Sujata V, MFTI am a licensed Marriage & Family therapist in the state of Ohio. I received my Ph.D. in Human Development & Family Science (Couple & Family Therapy Specialization) from The Ohio State University. My training at the OSU couple & family therapy clinic and work at community mental health clinics has provided me with valuable experience in working with diverse populations. I strive to help my clients work through either routine "life issues" or major upheavals that have a more prolonged impact on them or their relationships. Other clients may use therapy as a platform to enhance their well-being or that of their relationship(s). My philosophy in therapy is that I "walk alongside" my clients rather than direct their paths. Therapy, to me, means developing a greater understanding of oneself , which then helps with all relationships (home, friends, work, school etc.). As a therapist, I would serve as your "mirror", being as objective as I can be so that you can develop your own insight. Most importantly, therapy is a learning experience for both my client(s) and myself. I have had the privilege of education and work experience in both Eastern and Western Cultures. This has enabled me to become more open and flexible as an individual, and therefore, as a therapist. *I am exclusively offering teletherapy (video) sessions currently* |
